Wood River Internet was started in Lafleche, SK in 2015 out of necessity.
John DeGraauw worked as an Instrumentation Technician maintaining and managing networks in Fort Nelson BC. With growth of his family he transitioned to work more from home, so a “good” Internet connection was needed. Setting up a PTP link based in Lafleche off a SaskTel DSL Modem at a local store and quickly realizing he was not alone, he was soon installing similar systems for friends. This eventually grew into Wood River Internet.
Wood River Internet then became an ISP in August of 2019 and coming into Jan 2023 we have surpassed 2500+ customers and over 150+ towers.
Currently, we have coverage over a vast portion of Saskatchewan. With 18 employees and four dealers our goal is to keep expanding across the province bringing more communities online.
